VIKING’s Global Finance Department comprises 80 dedicated colleagues, located in Denmark and in Global Business Support in Bulgaria. We are overall responsible for VIKING’s financial reporting, using SAP as our major ERP platform.
As Finance Analyst / Business Controller, you will report to the Finance Director and you will be located at the VIKING headquarters in Esbjerg.
In this role, you will play a vital role in analyzing financial data, providing insights, and driving process improvements to effective decision-making within the organization. If you have a strong analytical mindset, a high passion for data, and a desire to optimize financial processes, we would love to have you join our team.
Your daily tasks would cover:
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to key stakeholders.
- Prepare and present, modify financial reports, including variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting in Power BI.
- Conduct profitability analysis, cost analysis, and financial modeling to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Streamline financial processes, identifying areas for automation and increased efficiency.
- Support in development of financial models and dashboards to track key performance indicators.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for budgets, financial plans, and business cases.
- Reporting statistical information
- Monitor and report on financial performance, highlighting areas of concern or having improvement potential.
- Provide support during the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance and data analytics.

Do you have what it takes?
You have an educational background in finance, accounting, business administration or similar at a Bachelor/master's degree level.
On the professional side we expect you to have min. 2 years’ experience working within finance or accounting with data handling, preferably as an analyst or controller. Most important is though, that you have a passion for data and have the understanding and ability to provide value for the organisation using your excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
Your proficiency in using an ERP system (preferably SAP) and relevant data analysis tools such as Power BI, Excel, and/or SQL is great.
On the personal side you have;
- A passion for data and a rookie mindset to continuously improve
- A mindset with a focus on quality, accuracy and data integrity.
- Ability to work independently and also collaborate with and in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and global environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders in Danish and in English.

You must expect approximately 5-15 global travel days per year.
