Your Position

As an Operational Buyer in our Renewables division, you will become a valuable member of our dedicated Procurement team, committed to providing strategic and operational procurement support to large offshore substation projects worldwide.

In this role, you will help ensure project success by implementing efficient procurement practices. You’ll also handle key administrative tasks such as maintaining records, coordinating documentation, and ensuring procurement activities are properly tracked and reported. This position offers the opportunity to develop your purchasing skills in a large-scale project environment and contribute to meeting the world’s growing energy needs.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

As an Operational Buyer, your main responsibility will be to provide procurement support through effective communication and coordination with project team members, both internally and externally.

Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders through the Requisition-to-Pay process.
  • Methodically documenting all communications between Semco Maritime, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients in a well-organized manner.
  • Expediting orders and ensuring invoices are accurately matched before payment.
  • Proactively identifying and managing any supply risk and opportunities. 
  • Ensuring the procurement process follows proper document templates.
  • Receiving, registering, storing, and distributing all procurement-related documents and correspondence in the appropriate systems.
  • Providing administrative assistance to the Purchasing Manager.

Your Profile & Qualifications

We are seeking a self-motivated buyer with high energy and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced project organization. You possess a strong service mindset and enjoy daily communication with multiple stakeholders.

To succeed in this position, we envision that you have:

  • A relevant educational background.
  • Experience in operational buying.
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English and German, both verbal and written.
