Your position

In your newly created position as Operational Security Specialist in Digital & IT, you will be a valuable member of the small, yet highly impactful Information Security Team where we put great focus on fun days and geeky discussions. Here, you will help us on our mission to safeguard our organisation against cyber threats and ensure the uninterrupted operations of our large energy projects. Above all, your work will make a real change for the global energy sector. 
You will have the flexibility to work at either of our Danish offices in Esbjerg or Copenhagen, or at our Polish office in Gdynia, based on your convenience. The position is full-time, and you can expect to travel approx. 10 days per year. 

Your tasks & responsibilities

As an Operational Security Specialist, you will play a critical part in ensuring the operational security of our organisation by configuring and operating various security solutions and providing technical assistance to our IT operational teams.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Configure, deploy and maintain security solutions within patching and vulnerability management, SASE solutions and other related technologies.
  • Assist in optimizing our security toolset and ensure we get optimal value from the investments, identify gaps, propose and implement new solutions.
  • Continual evaluation of our attack surface and mitigation of identified issues.
  • Review vulnerabilities and potential impact to the organisation
  • Collaborate with our managed service providers and with the IT organisation to address technical security matters, including incident response, system hardening, access controls, and network security.
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining Identity and Access Management technologies.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in information security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and recommend proactive measures to enhance our overall security posture.
  • Assist in assessing risks and help maintaining information security policies, procedures, and standards.


Your profile & qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled and curious individual who is passionate about information security and wants to leave their personal mark on it. You have a strong technical background with hands‐on experience in operational security configurations across different environments and are eager to ensure the availability, integrity and confidentiality of our data and systems.

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

  • Experience in configuring and operating various security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, antimalware solutions, DLP tools, etc.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, routing, switching technologies, VPNs, and other network‐related concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex technical issues related to information security.
  • Excellent problem‐solving abilities with a focus on finding practical solutions that balance business needs with effective risk management.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross‐functional teams.
  • Preferably experience working in an enterprise-level IT environment and ITIL processes as well as identity and access management.
