Your position 
We are seeking an organized Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team within the Rig & Marine division. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic international environment, contributing significantly to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects executed on an annual basis. Our Rig & Marine division specializes in providing a wide range of services for the energy industry, including engineering, project management, project execution, fabrication and installation, to support the offshore drilling rig and offshore wind installation vessel markets. As a valued member of our Engineering group, you will collaborate closely with a team of 5 skilled colleagues, reporting directly to Andreas J. Rosenørn, Team Lead Engineering.
 

Your tasks & responsibilities 
You will actively participate in the decision-making process and have an impact on your daily work. You will be responsible for generating innovative ideas, implementing designs, and collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders within the Rig & Marine division, as well as cross-divisionally within Semco and with external Engineering Service Providers. Effective sharing and communication of knowledge is crucial to the success of this role as we continuously strive to enhance our efficiency and improve our daily operations.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Execution of engineering projects
  • Engineering calculations and reporting
  • Scope of work definition
  • Coordination of activities by 3rd party engineering service providers in engineering projects
  • Engineering project planning and inputs for quotations
  • Quality control on engineering projects and inputs for the engineering quality management system

Your profile & qualifications 
As an individual, you are driven by results, self-sufficient, and possess a calm demeanour that allows you to thrive even in busy, high-paced situations within our daily operations. You approach your assignments with a proactive, analytical, and organized mindset, and excel in a dynamic work environment. You possess a natural curiosity to explore and refine your skillset, especially in emerging technological fields interfacing our Rig & Marine business environment.

To succeed in this position, we expect that you have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical engineering 
  • Experience within CAD software’s is preferred (SolidWorks is the main 3D software used)
  • Experience with offshore vessels and offshore in general is an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (Mechanical, piping or structural engineering)
  • Fluency in written and verbal English
  • Strong communication skills

Your place of work will be at our Global HQ located in Esbjerg, the hub of the Danish energy industry, right on the waterfront – views do not get any better than this. The position is full-time, and you can expect to travel 20-30 days per year.
